Skincare for Beginners

Naturally, skincare can be a scary thing - especially men.  It can be expensive, time consuming, and confusing.  Moisturizer, toner, cleanser, night cream, the list goes on.

So where do you begin when it comes to skincare and how to use it?

Around the eyes is extremely thin and definitely needs the most attention with a skincare routine.  Over time, your under-eyes will age significantly more than the rest of your face due to lose of collagen.  Keeping this area moisturized morning and night is the first step to anti-aging and healthier skin.

SPF is always a daily must because it protects your skin from the sun.  Finding a daily moisturizer that has SPF in it is key if you want younger, healthier looking skin.  Protecting your skin will also reduce your chances of skin cancer.

Cleansing your face twice daily is good for washing off excess dirt and oil.  Find a cleanser that is right for your skin and make sure to splash your face with cold water after cleansing to close the pores.

So where do you find your products?

Online can often be the easiest option, but it's always great to go to a store and look at all the different skincare brands and ingredients.  What skincare brand will work best with your skin?  Sampling some of the products will help you figure out which one you will end up buying.  Everyone has different skin so not all products will work the same, but with a little trial and error, you'll find what makes your skin look and feel energized!
