This has been a big topic talked about in skincare for years. Consistently drying out your skin will cause fine lines and wrinkles because of lack of moisture. The oils our skin produces are protecting us from aging and losing elasticity. Men have 25% more collagen in their skin than women so naturally they will age a little slower. This can be because of a lot of reasons, but mainly because the sebum oil production in men is longer lasting than women.
What exactly is sebum oil? "Sebaceous glands secrete the oily, waxy substance called sebum (Latin: fat, tallow) that is made of triglycerides, wax esters, squalene, and metabolites of fat-producing cells. Sebum waterproofs and lubricates the skin and hair of mammals."
Sebum protects the skin and hair from losing moisture. Unfortunately, it can lead to longer lasting acne in men because its production can start to clog the pores. It may only seem like women are the ones who are aware of their skin and more likely to take care of it but men should also be moisturizing daily, cleansing nightly, and exfoliating accordingly.
How can men control their oily acne prone skin by using Recipe for Men?
A lot of men will rinse their face in the shower but they won't spend the time washing it with a good cleanser. At the end of the day, riding your skin of dirt and access oils will clear up blemishes caused by clogged pores. After cleansing with Recipe for Men Facial Cleanser, always follow up with a moisturizer!
Our Anti-Shine Moisturizer has ingredients like black tea (boosts circulation), sebustop (the substance extracted from burnet, ginger and cinnamon), and micropearl powder which manages excess sebum on face. The Anti-Shine Moisturizer is great for daytime when you would want to control sebum production without drying your skin out.
